Bella Energy has completed a 1.65MW solar array atop the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, US.

The 3.85-acre solar photovoltaic (PV) system consists of 6,006 solar modules.

Lake County mayor Mayor Corroon said the solar project boosts the county's clean energy goals while benefiting the county's pocketbooks.

"Together, we can make solar an integral part of our bright, prosperous and resilient energy future," Corroon said.

Bella Energy executive vice president Andrew McKenna said "Financing this project required a lot of sweat equity and 14 months of hard work to develop a funding package that would satisfy the needs each party."

The solar PV system will produce an estimated 2.3 million kWh of electricity in its first year, covering about 17% of the Salt Palace's annual electrical usage.

The project was also assisted by Salt Lake County, CarbonFree Technology, Chase Bank, Rocky Mountain Power, the National Development Council, Zions Bank, Ballard Spahr, Suntech, Solectria Renewables, and Unirac.
