The DePuy Mitek & Shoulder Arthroplasty Business Unit sits within the DePuy Synthes Organisation as one of the market leaders specialising in the surgical treatment of sports medicine, soft tissue repair & shoulder arthroplasty.
Due to reorganisation and a subsequent increase in Sales Regions, this new position within the UK Mitek & Shoulder Arthroplasty organisation is focused on a multi-level sales approach directly into the NHS and the Private Healthcare Sector. The contact base includes orthopaedic surgeons, theatre staff and senior procurement management within the NHS and private sector. The requirement is for a Sales Manager who will report to the Business Unit Director and will be responsible for bringing leadership to a highly effective, well-established and successful team of field-based Sales People. The team will consist of a combination of dedicated sales people responsible for either the Mitek or the Shoulder Arthroplasty discipline, and clinical specialists who are fully convcersant in both the sports medicine and shoulder Arthroplasty portfolios.
The key challenge is to bring leadership, motivation, business planning skills and a strong commercial focus to the sales effort. Sales training and P&L accountability will feature in the role and it is a combination of sales management capability, an understanding of the importance of people as a key enabler to achieving business growth and a healthcare market knowledge that is pivotal to this role. Candidates should ideally be of graduate calibre and have a demonstrable track record in delivering business results, growth and successful leadership. High levels of numeracy, analysis, business planning and organisational ability are also required, along with PC literacy. Candidates should be established Sales Managers or Product Managers/successful Sales individuals who aspire to and have the potential to manage and ensure the success and focus of a team in a highly competitive environment.
The ability to credibly lead and influence an already successful and experienced team to new, higher levels of sales performance is paramount. The job environment is long hours with occasional weekend work, UK travel and occasional International travel.
The Regional Business Manager will report to the Business Unit Director and will be part of a cross-functional management team (Sales, Marketing, Commercial, Finance, and HR) that manages DePuy Mitek's business in the UK.
